Ramos Arizpe is located north of Saltillo and is now a suburb of that city. Initially called Valle de los Labores the name later became San Nicolas de la Capellania. It became a villa on May 19, 1850 and the name changed to Ramos Arizpe in honor of Miguel Ramos Arizpe known for his efforts in establishing a constitutional government in Mexico.
