This was one of the first books offered by Borderlands Book Store in 1992, now in an updated second edition. The author is Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Newark, NJ, a Church historian born and educated in León, Spain. This book proves that no nation has left more of a mark in the United States than Spain. Her flag has flown over more of our territory over a longer period of time than any other flag including the stars and stripes. Three fourths of our country was under Spanish rule for more than two hundred year after Columbus, her explorers and missionaries spreading Christian civilization from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Part One consists of seven general historical chapters. Part Two contains eleven historical chapters in chronological order. Illustrated with ten appendices. Fitzwilliam, NH, 2004 Loreto Publications 2nd Ed., 391 Pgs., 5 & 1/2 x 8&1/2, PB.
